Soil Health Workshop – Mulwala 8 August

A Soil Health Workshop will follow the Riverine Plains In-season update on Thursday 8 August, 2019, from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.  Farmers are invited to discuss the importance of soil health as well as how to improve the local relevance of soil improvement research. The workshop will involve a facilitated discussion with Dr Catherine Allan (Charles Sturt University) and farmers and advisors from the local region. Dookie Pulse Check pre-canopy closure meeting – August 13

A pre-canopy closure meeting will be held at Dookie on Tuesday 13 August, 2019 from 9am-11:30am as part of the Riverine Plains Inc Pulse Check Discussion Group series of meetings. The paddock walk and discussion will begin at Gall's lentil paddock (corner Pelly Rd & South Boundary Rd, St James) before moving to Alexander's albus lupin crop (NW corner Devenish-St James Rd and Boxwood Rd). Irrigation Discussion Group – first meeting 30 August, Mulwala

The first meeting of the new Riverine Plains Irrigation Discussion Group will be held over breakfast on Friday 30 August, 2019, from 7:30-10:30am at our office at 4/97-103 Melbourne St, Mulwala. 2020 John Hanrahan Scholarship applications open until 31 August

The John Hanrahan Scholarship recognises and encourages agricultural excellence in the Riverine Plains region through the support of a local second year student in their agriculture/agribusiness bachelor or diploma degree studies. The Scholarship, which is awarded annually, includes a bursary of $5,000, access to work experience opportunities with Riverine Plains Inc or through our networks, opportunities to network and gain knowledge with free access to all Riverine Plains events and mentoring from one of our current committee members.
