Transforming Regions Development Program for Federation Council businesses – EOI’s open until 3 March

The Transforming Regions Development Program will commence at Oaklands on Friday 6 March, 2020.

Interested participants who weren’t able to attend the initial information evening are invited to register their interest by Tuesday 3 March.

The seven-part program, which will run during March and April, is designed to assist people employed in farming or regional businesses within the Federation Council of NSW area achieve long-term profitability and sustainability.

The Transforming Regions Development Program will focus on the mindset and skills required in business and will be delivered via seven work modules, which will be supported by podcasts, webinars and monthly resources.

Coaching, mentoring and support will also be provided to help participants acquire practical skills that can be applied to both personal life and business.

The program is funded by the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Program, in conjunction with Federation Council, and is being delivered by Riverine Plains Inc through Lessons Learnt Consulting. Subject matter experts will also assist in the delivery of each of the seven program modules.

The core modules will cover;

  • Understanding individual and shared values and strengths and their application to your personal life and business
  • Positioning your business to thrive
  • Shaping your future
  • Managing finances
  • Managing relationships
  • Managing change; and
  • Operational planning processes and management mechanisms.

Depending on the needs of participants, a number of additional modules may also be covered including succession planning, environmental change, working with financial institutions, managing the introduction of new people into the business and beyond farming.

Transforming Regions program – Information evening 16 February, Oaklands

The Transforming Regions Development Program is a free six-module program designed to assist farming and regional businesses in the Federation Council area achieve long-term profitability and sustainability. It will be presented by Dennis Hoiberg, Lessons Learnt Consulting, focussing on mindset and the skills required in business.

An introductory meeting will take place at Oaklands RSL and Bowling Club, 21 Buller St, Oaklands, NSW, on Sunday 16 February at 6:30 pm, with a light dinner provided. Please RSVP by 13 February to assist with catering.

About the Transforming Regions program:
Transforming Regions is a six-module program helping participants to acquire practical skills that can be applied to both personal life and business, with coaching, mentoring and support provided. The program consists of specific work modules supported by podcasts, webinars and monthly resources. While the final program will be determined in consultation with participants, topics likely to be covered include;

Celebration of Agriculture Dinner

Riverine Plains Inc will celebrate food, farming and fellowship at a dinner celebrating Agriculture and Agribusiness at the Corowa RSL Club on Friday 22 March.

The dinner will be the springboard for our 20th Year Anniversary celebrations and will also involve the presentation of the Inaugural John Hanrahan Scholarship recipient.

This social event will also feature a Fundraising Auction, which aims to support the Scholarship into the future.

The Big Community Muster

Many of our community’s farmers are facing some of the driest conditions in Australia’s history.

To provide an opportunity for our farming community to share experiences and discuss ways to build on our inherent resilience, Riverine Plains Inc has joined with a number of other organisations in sponsoring a series of information forums that aim to provide practical insights to support farmers in preparing for the future.

The Big Community Muster Events will be held from Sunday 24 February – Friday 1 March at locations including Oaklands, Deniliquin, Hay, Condoblin, Nyngan, Baradine, Rowena, Moree, Narrabri, Gunnedah, Tamworth and Scone.

The Keynote Speaker at each event will be Dennis Hoiberg from Lessons Learnt Consulting, along with Gerard O’Brien from RSM Australia and Alister Bennett from ANZ.
