Preliminary Results Breakfast, Rand

Riverine Plains are hosting Preliminary Results Breakfasts at Rand (21 February), Burramine (22 February) and Murchison (23 February).

Rand

The Rand Results Breakfast will be held from 8am at the Rand Bowling Club.

Program:

  • 8.00 – 11am; Results Session and discussion. Facilitated by Rhiannan McPhee.
    • Dr Cassandra Schefe (AgriSci); Managing waterlogged soils
  • 11:15-12:30pm; Discussion with Dr Michael Nash (Whatbugsyou) about slugs and other establishment pests. Facilitated by Lynn Macaulay.

At each event we will be discussing the latest trial results across the region and, in response to the challenges caused by recent seasonal conditions, we will also be hosting a special session on managing/rehabilitating waterlogged soils with Dr Cassandra Schefe (AgriSci).

We encourage growers to get there early, catch up with neighbours and hear about the great work being undertaken by Riverine Plains.

Rand Pulse Check Meeting, 10 March

Riverine Plains will host a meeting of the Rand GRDC Pulse Check Discussion Group at the Rand Sports Ground on Wednesday 10 March, 2021, from 9.00 -11.30.

Cancelled: GRDC Northern Pulse Check pre-sowing meeting – 19 March, Rand

Please be advised that the GRDC Northern Pulse Check group meeting that was to be held at Rand this Thursday 19 March has been cancelled in response to the rapidly evolving situation regarding the COVID-19 virus.

Riverine Plains Inc is currently working on an alternative method to present the information, with further information to be provided to GRDC Northern Pulse Check Group members as it becomes available.

The event program was to include;

  • Review of pulses 2019: Facilitated discussion
  • Best bet pulse varieties: Ian Menz, NSW DPI
  • Pulse market update: Phil Bowden, Pulse Australia
  • Profitable pulse rotations: Graeme Sandral, NSW DPI
  • Nailing pulses 2020: Facilitated discussion

GRDC Northern Pulse Check Meeting – Rand, 21 October

Riverine Plains Inc will be hosting a meeting of the GRDC Northern Pulse check group at Rand on Monday 21 October, 2019, from 3 to 6pm.

Grain storage specialist Chris Warrick, from Primary Business, will speak on the GRDC grain storage project as well as  storing pulses, managing pests in storage and options for expanding grain storage.

There will also be discussions on:

  • Pulse harvesting
  • Crop topping & dessication
  • Pulse markets: Ben McClusky, Market Check
