Research for the Riverine Plains 2004

Written by Michelle Pardy | Jun 1, 2004 3:31:00 AM

Welcome to the 2004 edition of Research for the Riverine Plains.

Despite whatever Mother Nature challenged us with in 2003, I dare say it was nothing compared to 2002.

If monitoring was the key to 2003, adaptability will be the key in 2004. The past 12 months has reinforced the importance of disease resistance selection in breeding new varieties but as usual, everything takes time.

Riverine Plains will endeavour to increase and improve the flow of information to members. One of the areas where you will see a definite change is the holding of more events at a local level, as with our recent pre-season meetings, especially where issues arise during the year that will be relevant to your area.
