Grains Research & Development Corporation Irrigation Discussion Group field walk for irrigated farmers. We will visit three maize farms to see how crops have progressed over the summer and discuss the following topics:
- Maize establishment; what worked, what didn’t?
- Double cropping; what are the challenges?
- View planting machinery.
- Maize nutrition requirements; Lee Menhenett, Incitec Pivot.
An opportunity to learn from other farmers and agronomists about the key drivers for maize production, see different irrigated farming systems in action and how different configurations of planting machinery can be used to ensure good establishment.
