Supporting the future of agriculture
Riverine Plains Student Membership Applications
Agriculture offers a myriad of rewarding and fulfilling career paths and Riverine Plains would like congratulate students for choosing an agriculture related tertiary field of study.
As a farmer-driven and community-focussed organisation operating since 1999, we recognise that starting out on a career pathway in agriculture can be helped by strong networks and an understanding of the current issues in your chosen industry.
For this reason, we invite students to join us via our free Riverine Plains Student option. Students who are currently enrolled in a tertiary Agriculture or Agribusiness related degree or diploma course and have an interest in grain or mixed production systems are eligible to apply.
The Riverine Plains Student option is being offered to keep students up to date with key events, seasonal issues and information of interest to the grain and mixed farming communities. Riverine Plains also provides a great forum to meet a broad cross-section of farmers, agribusiness representatives and researchers.
The Riverine Plains Student option is free and includes;
- Emails and event invitations
- An electronic version of our bi-monthly newsletter
- Emailed ‘Fortinghtly Five’ bulletin
- Access to the Members Only section of our website
- Access to our trials publication, Research for the Riverine Plains, available via the Members Only section of the website.
We also aim to support students through the John Hanrahan Scholarship, which provides a bursary to a local second year Agriculture student to support their studies. Information about this scholarship can also be found by clicking on the button at the top of this page.
As an independent farmer group dedicated to improving the productivity of broadacre farming systems in north-east Victoria and southern New South Wales, we believe that the future of agriculture depends upon research, innovation and quality information. We also believe that the current generation of students is vitally important to achieving these outcomes.
