LONG TERM DROUGHT RESILIENCE PRACTICES AND CROWN ROT FIELD WALK
Come along to find out more about how Riverine Plains is demonstrating innovative cropping, grazing and mixed farming practices to support drought resilience and associated risk management in Victoria. At our demonstration site we are investigating the inclusion of vetch in the rotation for sustainability and profitability.
Plus consecutive good seasons, along with stubble retention and tight cereal rotations have favoured a build-up of Fusarium crown rot in the Riverine Plains region. Our Murchison demonstration site is investigating the potential link between Fusarium crown rot, subsoil acidity and stubble management techniques to help farmers mitigate yield loss.
