Riverine Plains Inc will be hosting  informal soil pit and weather station workshops at Bungeet and Miepoll on February 6. 

The soil pits are located at the sites of the on-farm weather stations and soil moisture probes installed in 2017 as part of the project, Improving fertiliser and chemical use through local, real time weather and soil information for farmers of the productive plains.

The soil pits will provide an opportunity to look at the soil moisture results from the probes, soil test results from 2017, the impact of soil type on water movement, and where the N went last season.

Program:

10 am: Bungeet Soil pit & workshop (informal discussion around soil pit)

Site opposite the house at 320 Devenish-Wangaratta Road (on north side of road), Bungeet West.

2 pm: Miepoll Soil pit and workshop (informal discussion around soil pit)

Site is on Carter’s Road, Miepoll (dirt road), which is located between Arcadia Two Chain Road and the Euroa-Shepparton Road.

The sessions will be presented by Dr Cassandra Schefe, Riverine Plains Inc.
