Riverine Plains doubles in size, scale and budget, delivering more value to farmers

Farming systems group, Riverine Plains Inc, has this past year seen extraordinary growth in projects, staff and resultant member value.

Over the past 12 months, Riverine Plains have increased their membership base by 10%, quadrupled the number of research sites, doubled their staff and more than doubled their budget.

As part of this growth, Riverine Plains is excited to announce the recruitment of their new Corporate Communications Manager, Katherine Seddon.

Riverine Plains CEO, Catherine Marriott, is delighted with the appointment.

“To have attracted someone of Katherine’s calibre in a time when organisations are having trouble attracting staff was an exceptional win. Katherine is capable, driven, works hard and is a great team player, so I’m excited to see where she will take Riverine Plains in this newly formed role”.

Katherine brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from over 20 years working in the communications and marketing space, predominantly for not-for-profit organisations, universities and the research sector.

Most recently, Katherine worked at the Soil CRC, where she managed their communications and marketing activities from inception. She established their communications and engagement strategy and her experience in communicating soil research to farmers will be invaluable for Riverine Plains and their members.

As part of her role, Katherine will be managing corporate communications including all annual publications and special projects for the organisation.

Ms Seddon says “I’m passionate about soil health and farming and working at Riverine Plains affords me an opportunity to work closely with farmers by bringing them the most up to date, relevant research in a timely and regionally relevant fashion,”.

Ms Marriott says “Katherine has a particular skill in strategic planning and communicating research in relevant ways which will be particularly valuable to our members,”.

The newly established role will involve enhancing the organisation’s corporate image and delivering strong communications outcomes for Riverine Plains and its membership base.
